WHY COLOuR MANAGEMENT

If your company wants to enter a more and more high quality market by printing on coated paper with inline varnishing, all influencing factors should have the right conditions:

  • Paper (printing on half coated or full coated paper limits the printing speed)
  • Anilox (the ink volume must be reduced from "brown" paper to coated paper)
  • Dies (the quality of dies also limits the speed)
  • Setting (the pressure of the printing cylinder must be reduced to a minimum)
  • Inks and varnishing (the quality of the inks and varnish mainly influence the printing; keywords: pigments, binder, rewetting, temperature, viscosity, PH-value)

3 steps with ColorControl:

First: Cool the ink to 20-21 °C

(The ink cooling system cools quickly to the target temperature - reached in 3 - 4 minutes).

 

Second: Measure viscosity

(We use the Inline Sensor, without any maintenance required).

 

Third: Press the button "Automatic"".

(The software holds pH-value and viscosity automatically with adding amines stable.)

 

1.) SOPHISTICATED TEMPERATURE MONITORING

Central cooling unit

 

The aim is to reach the temperature setpoint as quickly as possible and keep it constant. The current system can bridge the temperature difference of 10 °C for 5 minutes.

  • The temperature control works with cold water preparation.
  • Electrical connection of 1.5 KW per printing unit is required.
  • The cold water is washed through the double-walled heat exchanger until the predefined nominal temperature is reached.
  • With separate circuit and pump, the ink is continuously guided through the cooled heat exchanger.
  • The complete system is integrated into the existing cleaning circuit of the printing press, manual or additional cleaning of the ink cooling system is not required. 

2.) VISCOSITY MEASUREMENT WITH THE INTELLIGENT INLINE SENSOR

Viscosity sensor

  • Multi-range viscosity sensor
  • Small, compact design - can be integrated anywhere
  • Integrated in the ink circuit, no bypass necessary
  • No sampling
  • No moving parts
  • No mechanical seals
  • Maintenance-free
  • Safe for explosion-hazardous areas

3.) PRESS "AUTOMATIC" BUTTON

The software automatically keeps pH value and viscosity stable with the addition of amines.
